The Naptime Blanket (“Päikkärit”)
This group of napping forest animals decorates a woven cotton blanket by Barker Textiles that is a part of the 2022 maternity package by KELA. All the furry friends can be spotted in Finnish forests: A bear, fox, rabbit, and squirrel.
Barker Textiles is a high-quality wool and cotton home-textile manufacturer with decades of experience in the industry. The blankets are woven in Lithuania.
The Naptime Blanket (in Finnish “Päikkärit viltti”) is also part of the Finnish Architecture & Design museum’s collection and won the Iron A’ Design Award in May 2025. A' Design Award & Competition is an annual international competition that recognizes high-level design across various fields.

The design project was through Patternsfrom Agency for Barker Textiles.
The maternity package is a benefit offered under the Finnish social security system by Kela and it is not available commercially. The maternity package contains baby clothes as well as care products and materials.
