Kevään aarteet pattern
The Kevään aarteet (“Spring treasures”) pattern family is inspired by the small moments and details of spring. Those times when the light softens and the first truly warm, sunny days arrive. Outdoors, crocuses, scillas, and daffodils begin to bloom, while indoors, new green shoots appear in seedling trays. The patterns capture these seasonal observations – rhythm, colour, and the joy of growth.
Let’s start by getting to know the signature pattern of the collection: Kevään aarteet!
It’s based on a photograph I took in May 2023, during Mother’s Day weekend. The pattern continues my photography project “Season’s Treasures”, in which I create a plant arrangement from garden findings four times a year – one for each season. The spring garden offered daffodils, primroses, pennycresses, and scillas.
The Kevään aarteet pattern was first sketched digitally by drawing and then vectorized. Being made with vector graphics makes it easily scalable – the size can be reduced or enlarged without compromising the quality of the design.
This makes the pattern well-suited for both large and small surfaces:
Such as beautiful bed linens and disposable tableware that's perfect for spring celebrations!
The Kevään aarteet pattern can be found in the pattern library of Patternsfrom Agency, which represents Finnish textile design. It is available for licensing for international use and a variety of applications. In addition to being easily scalable, the colorways can also be customized as needed!
