Kiemurat pattern
The first draft of the Kiemurat (“Curves”) pattern was drawn with markers in a sketchbook. My aim was simply to fill the pages with different motifs and surfaces, sketching very intuitively without planning ahead.
I used only a few colours, and the pattern development was based on form and rhythm. While drawing, the curled, bell-shaped florals grew into a lively surface, which I then refined digitally.
With vectorized patterns it is easy to adjust the colours and scale of the pattern without compromising quality.
The Kiemurat (Curves) pattern is a part of a collection which includes also patterns Päivänkakkarat (Daisies) and Nuppuset (Buds). They go well togerther with the Kesä kukassa (Summer in bloom) collection too.
All these patterns are available for licensing from the Patternsfrom Agency’s online pattern library.
